Across the street from Tower Park, in Historical Downtown Delavan, you’ll find Jonathan’s on Brick Street. I’ve heard nothing but rave reviews since the place opened in May (2019). Since the holiday season is a great time to reconnect with old friends, I called my gal pal and made reservations to check the place out tonight!
We had 4:30 pm reservations, so I could get some quick pics of the lay out and maybe talk to the chef before the dinner rush. The interior design gave a warm and cozy yet chic vibe, and the waitstaff were very welcoming.
The chef even created a display of the premium meats and seafood he had hand picked for the night’s specials! After catching up for a while, we ordered a couple sampler platters s we’d have a bunch of options to taste test…and we were not disappointed.
I’ve never had prosciutto wrapped shrimp, but now my life feels complete somehow? These were grilled too so the outside was crispy, but the shrimp inside were savory still. I don’t think I’ve met a stuffed mushroom I don’t like, but these were packed with vegetables, crab, shrimp, spices. The scallops were the melt-in-your-mouth kind, i.e., the best.
Israeli couscous is my favorite. I love love LOVED the Ahi Tuna, which had this fantastic contrasting tropical fruit salad on top that was amazing. The cheese curds are always a must for me (Italian genetically + Wisconsin born = cheese required), and Jonathan’s were great. The tenderloin medallions, come on! My mouth is still watering. The pork was very juicy and had a great sear on the outside. The beef was cooked to a perfect medium well done, too. Needless to say, we were pretty full very fast!
By the time we had finished up, the place was getting crowded, which is always a good sign of delicious food. Overall: this place is definitely on the repeat list! I enjoyed everything from the aesthetic, to the crew, and the delectable dishes! Thank you Jonathan’s on Brick Street – I’ll see ya soon!
❤ always, Annie Z.
